Medical Field

Public Health

Advanced EMT (AEMT)
An Advanced EMT (AEMT) career is a strong step between EMT-Basic and Paramedic. This role builds advanced clinical skills, increases responsibility in the field and often comes with higher pay, making it a valuable pathway for those who want to grow within emergency medical services.

Dental Assistant
A career as a Dental Assistant offers flexibility and multiple paths for growth. You can remain in a hands-on clinical role, move into office or practice management, or advance into dental hygiene or dentistry, depending on your interests and long-term goals.

Dental Hygienist
Dental Hygienists play a key role in preventive oral health care, working directly with patients to provide cleanings, education and early detection of oral health issues. This career offers strong earning potential, patient-focused work and opportunities to move into education, administration or public health settings.

Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC)
The LCDC career path provides a solid foundation in behavioral health and addiction treatment. It opens doors to roles in counseling, mental health services, case management and, with experience and additional education, advanced clinical, supervisory or leadership positions.

Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
A career as an LVN can be both rewarding and versatile. LVNs may advance clinically, move into leadership or administrative roles, or continue their education to transition into higher nursing roles such as Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner.

THE TEXAS TALENT CONNECTION
Culinary Works In Rural Texas (CWRT) Grant
The Texas Talent Connection / CWRT Grant provides innovative workforce training through a culinary program that incorporates ServSafe certification, a key food safety credential, to help Texans gain in-demand skills for job placement. The program focuses on building practical skills that directly support employment opportunities in the culinary and food service industry.
Career Tracks works to connect businesses with skilled workers and provides individuals with the resources they need to succeed in the workforce. As part of the Culinary Works in Rural Texas (CWRT) Training Program, Career Tracks supports and manages innovative workforce initiatives designed to improve long-term employment outcomes.
The CWRT Training Program is implemented in Bastrop, Fayette, and Caldwell Counties. In these communities, Career Tracks coordinates with employers, supports their current employees, and assists with recruiting new hires when needed to meet local workforce demands.
The CWRT Grant prepares and provides employment opportunities for 40 Food Preparation and Serving Workers across 10 restaurants, with four participants per location. Participants complete a 10-week program that includes four weeks of culinary training followed by six weeks of on-the-job experience, with successful completion requiring attainment of the ServSafe Food Handler or ServSafe Manager certification.

✔ Be Registered in the Selective Service (If Male)
Certification Received
